Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Gorgeous I love the long lines, slightly fitted waist, lay of the exceptionally soft alpaca fabric, silky lining and swallowtail of this coat. Best of all, I feel like a star when I wear it. Every time I wear this coat I am complemented, which, as I have gotten older, is especially appreciated. You should note that this is not a heavy winter coat, like a traditional navy pea coat. It is plenty warm, however, for cool fall and winter days in the 30's and 40's. I am a bigger girl, 5' 10" and 165#, and have always looked better in solid colors with long, classic, lines. I ordered a size 12 so that it would fit over winter sweaters, and the fit is great. The one drawback with this coat is the high price tag. As a result, I wear this coat with care and hope to cherish it for many seasons to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stunning These shorter coats look fabulous with skinny jeans. This coat is stunning, lots of style and elegance. Fit is amazing, nipped in at the waist to look all the more feminine. Color is a rich, dark navy. Looks stylish with pencil skirts and heels. Compliments ever time I wear it. Fabric is beautiful.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sizing off Had a detailed discussion about sizing before purchasing this. Told rep I had purchased a size zero pants the day before at J. McLaughlin. Their sizing chart says I should have ordered an 8. I'm 5'3", Bust 36 waist 28 hips 37. I ordered a size 6 after much hesitation and convincing by rep. This jacket was swimming on me. The color is more black than blue, and definitely not worth the price. Lost $40 in shipping. Lastly, while it looks like it would be warm, it's really nothing spectacular.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So anticipated! I was really looking forward to receiving this back-ordered coat! Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed, probably my own fault. It is a gorgeous fabric but too warm for inside wear. I was rather hoping for a "suit-type" fabric. The back is a bit snug and the front a bit loose, plus there is a tuck in each sleeve where it attaches to body. Not sure it's supposed to be there because I couldn't see it in a close-up of photo on website. It is a very dark navy, almost black. I was hoping for more of a dark blue. But the total style is beautiful so I may just keep it. I am thin so style was perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply Perfection Swallowtail coat is so beautiful. I was surprised by how soft and lightweight it is while being extremely warm. I think the swallowtail looks perfect not too big at all for me. I ordered the size 12 only because the 10 was backordered, so glad I did as it fits perfect. I do have wide shoulders compared to my hips.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not for everyone This coat is very beautiful: color, fabric, tailoring. Unfortunately, the multiple pleat "swallowtail" back made me look like I was wearing a bustle. This might be great for someone with a flat rear. I loved everything else about it, and only wish it had a classic single pleat back vent.

An intriguing take on the classic riding coat. Masterfully tailored of deliciously soft, ink-blue baby alpaca (67%), wool (31%) and nylon (2%), the hourglass shape has a stand collar, military buttons and a crisply pleated back peplum.
