Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful coat! I couldn't be happier with this coat. It fits perfectly, and has a beautiful drape. The fabric is soft and luscious and just feels great to wear. In addition to all of this, the style is timeless so it will always be stylish. A truly wonderful coat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for the petites I've been coveting this coat for years and I finally decided to splurge on it this year -- sadly, or rather happily for my wallet, it was an utter flop. As one other reviewer stated, the armholes were a bit tight, for one. For two, I'm five two and this looked utterly ridiculous on me. It looked like I was swimming in a grownup's bathrobe. PC, you have lovely things, but can you please, please, please have some of them in a selection of petite sizes? There seems to be no long coat option for the height challenged and I'm sure I'm not the only one out there! I am going to have to return this, with great regret.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from color For the person who was asking about the new color. I tried on this coat at their Santa Fe store in the Bordeaux color and loved it. It is definitely more on the purple side than the red side. It's sort of halfway between a plum and a Bordeaux. Unfortunately even the small size was too long for me. I looked lost. But that's probably a good thing since I have other things I need to spend my money on!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coat I have wanted this coat for several years. Finally broke down and bought it although concerned about reviews and the sleeves. I love the coat. It fits beautifully and the sleeves are roomy and comfortable. It is a classic and I will enjoy for a long time. Only negative is I find it a bit pricey for a basic, classic coat.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lovely - huge shame it doesn't fasten I ended up returning this coat because I hadn't realised that the catalogue description "buttonless" actually means "doesn't fasten at all so leaves a big drafty gap at the front unless you hold it closed with one hand"! Such a shame as I'm afraid for me the whole point of an investment winter coat is to be warm and keep me totally cozy on cold windy station platforms on my commute to work every morning! Apart from that, the coat was truly fabulous - I'm 5'9" and this would have been long enough to cover even my longest maxi skirts/ dresses. It hung fabulously, and the fabric is a 'furry/hairy' type of alpaca - imagine the fluffy tummy of a baby alpaca, and you've got it! I was so, so tempted to keep it, but the open style front just made the price impractical for me. (Contrary to other reviewers, I didn't feel this coat 'wrapped' at all - it's designed to fall with the two sides falling 'edge to edge' - no 'double-breasted' or 'wrapover' at all. There's plenty of fabric, so as someone else said, it COULD be redesigned to have an invisible hook and eye/ ribbon fastening inside) That said, Peruvian Connection were great about refunding me and I ended up being able to buy a cheaper coat plus a new cardigan for the same money!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sheer Luxury This coat is divine! The fabric is so luxurious - light, warm, smooth to the touch - it screams 'quality' and will last me forever. I loved the look of it in the brochure - I prefer long coats and have been looking for this kind of style for some time. I thought it was quite expensive but wanted to check it out before making a final decision. I was not dissapointed. Put it this way - if you wanted to swan down 5th Avenue on a cold winter's day - this is the coat to do it in!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Elegant all purpose winter coat Easy to wear, stylish and practical winter coat. An investment rather than a purchase, but well made and hopefully will last many seasons. I love the fact it's full length - can't bear long skirts trailing below a coat hem! Only real negatives are the Bordeaux colour is rather dull for my taste - a slightly stonger red/purple tone rather than brown/purple would give it more pizzazz. Also, the style doesn't have buttons, which is fine since there's plenty of fabric to wrap over, but it does need ties attached to the inside to give the option of fastening it closed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Elegant and practical I have never before felt compelled to write a review, but this coat is excellent. I had read the previous reviews and was a bit concerned about the sleeve fit. Not at all a problem. I am an average sized "medium" and the coat fits beautifully, with ample room. I especially like the drape of the coat with lots of fabric to close comfortably even without buttons or belt. An elegant, wonderfully luxurious coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful! Although I love fashion, I wanted a classic coat which would stand the test of time. An easy piece which would look great wherever, whenever and however I wore it, outside current trends. This is it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful coat! I was nervous about this coat based on the complaints regarding the size of the sleeves, but my fears were unfounded. I ordered the small (I am a size 4) and it fits beautifully. The style is roomy and allows for bulky sweaters or layers underneath. It is an elegant, warm, lightweight coat that will remain stylish for many years due to its classic lines. My only complaint is that I believe it is somewhat overpriced; I would have expected it to fall within the $500 - 600 range. While the baby alpaca wool is precious, this coat is priced among its cashmere peers, and I think that is too high. Having said that, I do love it and will happily wear it through the bitter Chicago winters!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PC Favorite I've had my black Decades coat for over 10 years and had been comtemplating a new one when I saw the bordeaux color. Finally broke down and ordered it, and I'm very pleased that I did. This year's coat has a much better fit for me and my broad shoulders (my old one has shoulder pads). I don't have any problem with the fit through the arms as some other reviewers have noted, but I do have pretty thin arms (I'm 5'7", 135 lbs.); I ordered the M, which is my usual size at PC. In response to another reviewer's question about the color: I would say it's a slightly reddish-purple, but much more purple than red and with a brown (as opposed to a blue, which I would have preferred) undertone. That being said, it's a gorgeous, plush coat that is neutral enough for my entire wardrobe, and I'm in love with it and look forward to wearing it for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coat This coat is stunning. I love the clean line and luxurious fabric. It is a bit long and sleeves need to be shortened as I am a petite and this coat isn't available in petite length. I haven't seen a comparable coat anywhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Luxurious Coat Fabulous! I haven't had a coat for years because in the coastal town I live in we just don't need a full blown coat. We are traveling to NYC this winter and I wanted an appropriate coat that I could keep a long time, something classic in styling. I ordered and returned several coats, but when this coat came I knew it was just what I was looking for. Easy, Soft and Simple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Coat The coat is everything as is stated in the catalog. I love the long length, the weight is perfect, does not feel heavy. I like the fact that there are no buttons or belts that it is free flowing and feels so good on. Would recommend this to anyone who need a great looking classic long coat for day or evening wear.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from So Disappointing! Before ordering this coat I read a review stating that the "arms were too tight", however I disregraded it as the reviewer stated that her arms were heavy. I received my coat today and cannot describe how disappointing it was to slip into that luxurious fabric and beautiful design, only to feel the armholes constricting against my bare arms. I am 5'8" and a size 10 - so I don't think that my arms are the problem. It is an oddity of design in a coat that is otherwise unstructured and flowing. There is no way that the arm opening could accommodate a sweater or blazer when they are uncomfortable with a sleeveless garment. Unfortunately I am returning this beautiful coat as it is unwearable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Baggy shape Sadly disappointed by this coat. Heavier than expected, and virtually no fit to its loose shape. I'd been searching for a similar style with alpaca for a long time, expecting warmth without bulk & good styling. Photo was very appealing. In it, I looked like a tent and felt weighted down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this coat! This review is based on the original coat I bought many years ago. I still wear it and it still looks good. Relatively light weight too. Now I am thinking about getting the bordeaux color [I have black], but I need help from someone who has this coat. Is the bordeaux a reddish color at all, or is it a real purple - not a burgundy and not a reddish-purple. Unfortunately they do not supply sample swatches anymore.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hated to send it back The coat is beautiful, just what I was looking for BUT my upper arms are heavy so the sleeves were uncomfortable. So sad!
