Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent gift Received black coat early Feb. after availability. My wife loved the belated holiday gift. She was highly impressed with quality of material and detail. Coat is $$$$, kept looking for sale reduction but none ever appeared. My wife is petite so some alteration is necessary on length of arms and hem. Nice touch with alteration coupon. Overall a beautiful creation and matched up with Courcheval hat and alpaca boa in dark brown a tres chic statement. Thank you PC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the money I bought a version of this coat in black at least 15 years ago and am still wearing it. This version is beautiful and will last as long if not longer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely but fit was an issue Like other reviews about this coat, I can say it is truly lovely and elegant. Unfortunately, it seems to be cut for a taller and longer body type than the recipient. The small armholes were marginal. So sadly, it's been returned. I hope it find the right owner and has a good life!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The coat is absolutely beautiful. The only drawback is the lining and the construction at the hem of the garment -- poor. I like the coat well enough though to make the necessary tailoring adjustment myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Timeless Coat/One of my Best Purchases Ever The Decades coat truly is timeless. I have the original that does not have a pleat in the back. Have had mine for years and it still looks as beautiful as the day it arrived. Each and every time I wear this coat I feel glamorous and receive many, many compliments! Thank you, Annie!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Admired and finally own I admired this coat for many years. This year I was thinking about buying a fur but decided on the decades coat. It does not disappoint. It is beautiful and you feel like a millon wearing it. It's only drawback is the tightness in the upper arms but as I shrink that is getting better. That was another reason for the choice. I have been loosing weight and this coat with still look good as I shrink. LOVE IT.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best winter coat I've ever owned Bought this coat in black many years ago and decided to try taupe. Wish it was available in navy blue and cream too. Frequently get stopped and asked where I got the coat from.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, love, love this coat! I've watched different colors of this coat come and go thorugh the years...never ordered until I saw the rose taupe...The coat is lovely; the color, the feel, the fit - wonderful! I'm short (5'2") and I was slightly concerned about the length - it's perfect with a small heel or a flat boot - I purchased the gloves to complete the look. Looking forward to cold weather and snow (almost) so I can wear it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just Okay! I am 5'9" and slender, about 155lbs. and thought this coat was very average on my figure. The quality is good, but this style did not flatter my figure at all. In fact, it just looked like a coat "hanging" on me -- it did not look or feel special. In other words, the coat "wore" me. I would recommend to a more petite to avg. size/height person.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing but baby alpaca will do I love my coat from Peruvian Connection. The customer service rep was most helpful in assisting me on sizing. This was a very special gift to myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly Decades Coat This coat is beautifully tailored and flattering, a classic design and styling that is the"go to" coat for dressing up or down with scarves/accessories to go anywhere - great looking with jeans and errands or elegantly appropriate for dress-up. The feel is luxurious - like a fine cashmere and wool blend. I'll love and enjoy this coat for many years. The design is one I'd been looking for the past 2 years. Thank you, Peruvian Connection!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Search over! It is the perfect coat, dressed up or down. Excellent service - I had to exchange the size- but would just mention that the exchanged coat was very creased,on delivery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Iconic Coat Quite frankly, I avoided buying this iconic PC coat for nearly a decade. I live in a northern climate, and the coat's non-buttoning front seemed a non-starter. However, a couple of years ago PC offered this coat in a deep, royal purple, and I couldn't resist. The same year, PC also offered an alpaca cableknit scarf in a full weight, width and length, which I purchased to go with the coat. I was/am amazed by the sheer elegance of this coat. It has a wonderful, substantial weight which, together with its length (and the scarf), makes it extremely warm. It also has a stunning and comfortable drape; a long, full vent in the back, and the alpaca itself is gorgeous and soft. I wear this coat to the symphony and opera (where I feel more elegantly dressed than those in fur coats) as well as on other formal occasions. I am purchasing the black coat this season for business events. I plan to have a tailor close the front with a few unseen, inside closures for practicality in that setting. I also am hoping that PC might make the same substantial-weight cableknit scarf in another color (red?) to complement the black coat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great coat; cut needs revision I have had my eyes on this gorgeous coat for some years, hoping for the day when I could finally afford to buy one. The day finally arrived and I was so excited. The good news: The color is absolutely gorgeous, and it is divinely soft and lovely, and obviously something that will last for decades, hence its name. The bad news: 1. The arm holes are ridiculously small. I like to war sweaters under my coats in the winter time; it gets cold and damp here in Northern California, foggy and miserable. I tried it on first with a Peruvian pima cotton tunic and a thin thermal shirt, and it felt very snug (size medium, which I always take in PC clothing). I next tried on a baby alpaca sweater, one I would wear on an especially cold day, and I knew I would have to return the coat :-( What is more, I knew I could not go a size up as I am only 5'2.5" and I would swim in a size L; it is a very voluminous coat, big everywhere except in the shoulders and arm holes/upper back, and I am not that wide. I was very disappointed. 2. A coat like this REALLY needs a close of some sort, either a sash (that would be the best), and/or a large button or two. It is less than practical not to have a close when you are out there walking about and it is blustery, rainy, snowy or whatever type of wintry weather! 3. Why is this not in Petite sizing?! I knew it would be long as I am quite petite and the models are long and willowy, but I felt I really needed to mention this...if one is spending this much on an article of clothing, one should not have to have it altered and risk losing the line in the design, not to mention the added expense. 4. This otherwise lovely coat is beautiful to behold and to touch, but it is simply not practical for every-day use, or for someone who is under 5'6". Please reconsider the cut and make the arm holes not as fitted, a bit less volume in the overall drape, a close of some sort, and petite sizing, and I will order one. I am sorry to say but I am going to have to ship the coat back to PC. --an otherwise very satisfied customer, since the 1980s

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great coat bought it black last year. as much as I hate winter --I'm just excited about getting it out of the cedar chest. Wishing I could justify buying the grey one this year ---well maybe next year. Gave 4 stars for quality only because I wish the pockets were deeper, other than that the alpaca coat is just a delight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Coat I bought this coat many years ago, in fact I loved it so much I own it in 2 colors, Black and at that time Camel. I never thought I would spend that much money on a coat, yet alone 2 coats. They are lightweight and very warm. Its been at least 10 yrs now since I purchased my first coat, and its still wonderful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best coat ever............. Wonderful - very flattering, admiring comments from everyone that has seen it. A true classic - hope it lasts for many years. I have worn it in the evenings, and I will wear it to work in the winter, great for formal and work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from True Lux ... I'm 5'5", on a good day, and was worried about the length - which turned out perfectly in the medium size. The coat is constructed with the expected attention to detail, and the way one feels when wearing it make this coat wonderful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My new coat I won't know for sure until winter, but so far I love my new coat. I had been looking for a new coat for some time, and wanted something that was great quality, great style, and fit my personality. I found it here. It is reminiscent of a vintage cashmere hand-me-down 1930's coat I rescued from my grandmother's closet and wore until it fell apart. The only trick is that there are no buttons - one holds the coat closed against the wind with one's hands. I may regret this when deep winter hits and I am juggling multiple bags as I walk from car to office. Maybe I'll just learn to carry less stuff. Warning: a purchase of this size requires a signature upon delivery. Have it sent to your office if you don't usually have someone at home.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Timeless, Classic You can't go wrong with this coat! Bought mine about 10 years ago, and am still wearing it--looks brand new, and it's been through 10 cold winters of being worn and wagged around. The fabric is incredible to the touch, the coat is warm, and it looks great! What more could you want?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just gorgeous A truly gorgeous item; delightfully soft fabric which drapes beautifully and is warm without being overly heavy; my favourite coat ever. I bought the plum coloured model a couple of years ago and it is the most I had ever paid for a coat; absolutely no regrets!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adorable Classic, always complimented! Please ... never stop producing this coat! I have to admit my husband bought one for me years back and I literally wore it all autummn and winter! For the last three years plus,it still looks great and has travelled the world with me being stuffed into overhead lockers on flights and used as a blanket when delayed on said flights! I am still wearing it this season, however the Christmas before this my husband bought me a new one when I told him it was my cannot do without item. I have still to wear that one. The Fabric is gorgeously soft and it falls beautifully. It seems to adapt to always be warm but never too hot. It is so flattering and feminine while so many coats are not. Classic simple styling that is undateable. I can easliy wear it over a business outfit, casual clothes or over an evening dress. I have had so many men and women asking about where I purchased it. The style is great, I hate buttons, this coat does not need them! All these years on, both the coat and its lining look like new. This coat is a true investment piece, not low cost I admit but nothing wears or looks as chic as this LOVE IT! You probably guessed that!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I wore it out! I bought this coat about 15 years ago for the exact same price, incredibly! It was a taupe color and my all time favorite coat...I wore it constantly, for dressing up, work, casual occasions. Everyone commented on it, even my students! I hated to take it off and would fall asleep with it on. It was comforting and warm on the coldest days...truly a treasure. I am contemplating another.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Coat Ever I love this coat. The black will be my third time buying this wonderful coat. I had a blue one that was a sample coat that i wore forever. My second is a luxurious brown that is still wonderful. It took me two years to say good-by to the Blue coat and it was hard. One year I waited too long and missed a red one. I want the black to go with black boots. I receive compliments everytime i wear it. more important - it just feels wonderful. Soft, warm, and the perfect length. The coat can handle scarves of any size. i wouldn't consider any other coat.
