Windsor Dress

Item #711722
Rated 3 out of 5 by from rennaissance princess- almost I just received this dress that I was hoping to have for Christmas. Seems like PC never has things in any rate the dress in it's cut and motif is lovely. I really feel like a renaissance princes in it, well almost, that is if the fabric were heavier than a nylon stocking. The thing that would have made this dress what it SHOULD have been is a decent weight material! This is so obviously a winter dress and yet PC makes it so that the material is the weight for a 95 degree summer day! I truly feel cold in it when I just tried it on in my 70 degree house. How do I wear it out somewhere without long underwear? If I had to wear this in an Midwest or East coast winter I would die from hypothermia! Shame, shame on PC for continuing to cheep out as opposed offering the first quality fabrics that it did 25 plus years. ago. I will keep this dress ONLY because I can just barely get away with it here in California- I love the style of the dress that much. I will say that the cut on this in great. It is very forgiving. I have gained a few pounds on my lower half with age, but if I go to a large I then have to have it altered in the bodice. I was able to order a medium and yet the lower half of the dress is full and flowing so it forgives imperfections in hips and thighs- I really appreciate that. But unless PC changes it's policy of offering its beautifully styled dresses in the most dirt cheep thin fabric, Sadly I am afraid this is going to be my last purchase. because I am feeling like a sucker too often after my purchases. Someone high up at PC knows they have a uniquely styled product line that those of us who don't follow the crowd jump at the chance to wear, and they obviously think they can get away with offering style alone with no substance. Maybe they can, but not anymore with this customer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average dress This dress looks better on the photo then in reality. The colors are not as bright as shown here, they are sort of more faded. Very thin material, it feels cheap and it doesn't feel like a quality item. Quality needs to be much better for the price charged. It would be OK to get this dress at a discount price, but I feel it is not worth the full price. The style looks good on me though. I am not buying a full price item from this store again, the price/quality combination is inadequate.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gorgeous color for winter The color and the pattern of this dress is simply gorgeous despite its thin fabric for winter. The draping of the skirt is beautiful and it is very comfortable to wear. The neckline is not so flattering though (I prefer more opening). The description states it is "semi-fit," but for some reason it looks loose on me and a bit frumpy... My usual PC size is S and I am 5'6" and 120. I ordered size Small. I am debating if I keep it or exchange it with XS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well tailored I rarely get a dress to fit so well right out of the box. I bought size S (I am 125 lbs, 5'3") The only problem was that it needed to be shortened by 2 inches. Otherwise a stylish and comfortable dress. The fabric is thin, but that is not a problem for me. I am happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Artistically Designed The combination of the elegant design, the drape of the fabric (light jersey knit)--which gives it its drape and flow, and the exquisite print make this a beautiful dress that can be dressed up or down. I wan't sure the jersey knit would be formal enough, but the print is sophisticated in that the subtle mottling of the shades give the appearance of a heavier, textured fabric. The dress is both elegant and comfortable. I'm actually using this as an untraditional mother-of-the-groom dress, in combination with a cream pashmina shawl and string of pearls. So happy to have found this dress! I'm 5'4", 130 lbs, and size Small was the best fit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just OK This dress is so cute on the model, however I found it to be very thin material that feels cheap, not at all a substantial fabric for a fall/winter dress, just a rather flimsy cotton jersey. I do like the colors, which are true to the photo. The style feels a bit frumpy on me too, not much elegance to it. I ordered a medium which fit fine, I am 5’10 145 lbs, wear a size 8. I wish it were slightly longer but looks ok with boots. I will keep it and wear with a scarf to dress it up, otherwise it is kind of blah for me. Wanted more oomph for the price.
