Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great, after altering I LOVE the fabric/design/color. My waist is 26”, and hip is 36”so I ordered a small. The hip width fit well. The length was 35" instead of the 33" described. The skirt waist was 27", so it slid down to my hip bones. I found that the hip yoke depth was too long for me and looked really strange with the gathers hitting so low on my hip. I wanted it to work, so I removed and discarded the waistband. I finished the raw edge with a strip of lightweight cotton/lycra jersey, and adjusted the elastic to 25-3/4”. I folded the edge along the purl stripe of the pattern, over the elastic, and hand catch stitched the jersey binding through the skirt, just under the elastic. The skirt is now 33” long, and the yoke is 6”. It worked really well, and I’m SO happy with it now. Maybe PC might rethink the yoke depth on this silhouette? I have photos, but can't seem to get them uploaded.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The quality is as usual for all the clothes I have bought very good. The skirt looks beautiful on the picture but it's very heavy and bulky in the bigger size. I returned it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice tight knit; Pretty pattern There have been a number of similar skirts in past years. I have bought those that are 33-or fewer inches in length because of my height (5'3"). I like these skirts because they are easy to walk in and because the patterns are interesting. The Kalavati skirt seems more tightly knit and heavier than most--a plus in my view because it should be less prone to snags.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful Pattern and Fabric...but I wanted so much to like this skirt. I love the pattern and the weight of the fabric. Super! However, the waist makes me look pregnant. (Look closely at the model to see the gathering). I am 5'6' 122 lbs. but I would need a longer sweater, etc. to make it look attractive. That would kill the skirt though. Unfortunately, I had to return it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft, summery, lovely. This is the kind of skirt you want to wear all the time. The fabric is the highest quality knit: fine, smooth, dense and deliciously soft. The colours are more muted than on my screen, looking prettily faded in a summery way. The style is very flattering: smooth over the waist and hip for a good line, then falling from the hip in tiny, gentle gathers, giving room for movement. I am size 8-10 and 5ft 6ins and my usual P.C. size S fits comfortably and falls to 2ins above the ankle. It is exquisite, but I don't intend to be precious about this skirt: I will wear it all summer with tee-shirt and tennis shoes, and with a plain, dark, storm-blue top when I wish to sharpen up the look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Classic This reminds me of what my Mom used to call a "dirndl" skirt in the 1970s, but its yoke eliminates the gathering into the waistband of that style skirt that always made me look "bloated." This silhouette has the ease of an A-line (walking, getting into a car, etc.) but maintains the chic of a pencil skirt and, surprisingly, neither the horizontal stripes nor the soft/minimal gathering at the bottom of the yoke widen my hips visually. The colors are true to my monitor and, as quintessential PC colors, I had any number of choices of PC tops already in the closet. I had to very carefully arrange the ruching of a Long Tank over the yoke, but the built in ruching of the Cypress Top in Jasper hit right at the bottom of the yoke on me (5.8" 135#, Medium). The fabric is a medium-to-heavy weight soft-handed cotton with a nice drape and I expect to be able to wear it year-round.
