Thin and Scratchy, yet Comfortable
" Reviewer berrylvr is absolutely correct that this dress is a bit thin and scratchy. Nevertheless, I'm keeping it at the special sale price for its great fit and looks (I'm a sucker for uneven stripes). Most sweater dresses need to be worn with a slip for opacity, anyway; add an undershirt and you get alpaca plus extra warmth, no scratching required. Interestingly, the dress seems to be knitted to the same basic pattern as the Layering Pima Cotton Tee, which works perfectly as an undershirt for warmth and softness; the necklines match exactly.
On the scratchiness: it feels more like Superfine than Baby to me--or maybe it's the nylon that makes it feel less soft. I find it acceptable. (Anything over ~25 microns gives me a rash--and you know how some fabrics seem fine at first, then drive you crazy all day? This doesn't).
The fit is true-to-size; I don't find it too clingy, but it may be more fitted than you like. The wide stripe of waistband ribbing is a real empire waist, even on a short, short-waisted person (I'm never sure looking at the model picture). What you see is what you get; it looks good to me. "
