INTERNATIONAL OFFICES

USA: Located in Tonganoxie, Kansas, our worldwide headquarters are still located on the family farm, with the corporate offices housed in a remodeled barn more than 100 years old. "The Farm" is near the Kansas City metro, a vibrant city with beautiful residential areas, wonderful shopping and dining and a diverse group of major employers. Kiplinger Magazine has rated Kansas City as one of the 50 Smart Places to Live.

In Tonganoxie, we employ individuals in our design, inventory management, service and call center, warehouse and order fulfillment, creative, finance, ecommerce and administrative areas and we provide support for customers throughout the world. Our New York City design office employs a staff dedicated to creating our unique collection of woven merchandise.

EUROPE: Our European operation began in 1995, serving just the UK, but soon started serving Germany and other European countries in the years to follow. In 2023, we opened our Netherlands office in Amsterdam, which consists of a warehouse and order fulfilment operation that serves our primary European markets.

PERU: Our office in Lima, Peru works closely with our vendors in the development of our textiles and the production of our unique merchandise, as well as the assurance of its quality.

TAX MANAGER, FULL-TIME - Tonganoxie, KS

ABOUT THE JOB:

Optional remote work is available but must live in the Tonganoxie or Kansas City Metro area (company is located in Tonganoxie, KS).

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Sales/Use Tax Compliance

  • Oversee the critical, complex area of sales/use tax compliance for the company.
  • Ensure PC is collecting proper tax and fees in required jurisdictions. This includes monitoring against thresholds and risk tolerance as applicable. The fees include such items as checkout bag fees and retail delivery fees.
  • Maintain Vertex Cloud configuration.
  • Ensure that PC customers are charged/credited the correct sales tax. Notify CFO of any issues.
  • Monitor ever-changing tax environment including timely review of the following sources. Implement any changes timely.
  • "Martin’s Weekly update."
  • Vertex Cloud and Vertex Returns monthly updates.
  • Emails from various sources such as state and tax guidance sites.
  • Ensure all sales/use tax returns are:
    • prepared and filed timely and accurately.
    • all discounts are taken where possible.
    • all payments are made accurately and timely.
    • JEs are made monthly to record transactions.
    • proper documentation is maintained.
  • Keep penalties and interest minimal and request abatements whenever possible.

Business Licenses, Annual Reports and Other Tax Filings

  • Maintain the comprehensive tracking system used to ensure that all business licenses, annual reports and tax reports are filed and paid timely.
  • Maintain annual detail schedule of Business Activity Taxes; research and file returns as required.
  • Monitor ever-changing government requirements and implement any changes timely.
  • Prepare annual reports, business license renewals and misc. tax reports and file timely with payment if needed.
  • Ensure retail stores have up-to-date licenses to display in the stores.
  • For tax filings that are prepared by outside tax accountant, make payments and enter filings as applicable, doing this online whenever possible. Gather data or prepare schedules as required by outside accountant. Verify tax refunds are received correctly.
  • At year end, prepare Sales by State report used by outside accountant and for other various internal purposes.
  • Serve as key contact for registered agent and forward any service of process document timely to appropriate PC personnel.
  • Review invoices from registered agent and submit for payment.
  • Maintain a quarterly expense schedule of Other Taxes and Licenses for use internally in Finance Department and annually for outside tax accountant.
  • For all electronic payments, timely forward information to AP for posting with a cc to CFO.
  • File the necessary documents to open or close a PC location in a state with the Secretary of State and other departments as applicable.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Ten or more years of accounting, auditing and/or tax experience.
  • Experience with sales tax returns and business compliance.
  • General accounting experience, including general ledger work and reconciliations.
  • Experience working with sales tax software such as Vertex.
  • Experience working with accounting software such as D365.

Preferred

  • Experience with VAT (value added tax).
  • Experience applying new accounting standards.

DYNAMICS 365 DEVELOPER, FULL-TIME - Tonganoxie, KS

ABOUT THE JOB:

The Dynamics 365 Developer will report to the Director of Information Technology and provide leadership on best practices for solution design, development and system administration within the Dynamics 365 environment as well as supporting various integrations into other systems. This role will also be responsible for maintaining the Enterprise Systems to ensure high levels of availability, accuracy, consistency and security.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Major responsibilities of the position are listed below. To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties, assignments and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of executive management.

  • Operates, optimizes and supports Microsoft D365 environment.
  • Works with internal and external partners to design, develop and deploy enhancements within the D365 environment including modifications to functional processes, reporting and integrations with other systems.
  • Work with business and IT partners to configure the D365 environment and maintain configuration in conjunction with business change, compliance requirements and day-to-day processing of system.
  • Perform business requirements analysis and design.
  • Perform gap/fit analysis between D365 functionality and organizational requirements.
  • Document functional requirements and software designs.
  • Maintain knowledge of advances in development strategies, platform updates and technical tools; ensuring those tools are leveraged to create the highest quality solution and support.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field desired; certification in Dynamics AX Development, Dynamics AX Installation and Configuration preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Dynamics 365/AX development, including X++ programming; plus 2 years of experience in Object Oriented SQL, scripting automation skills and developing reports through SSRS.
  • Strong technical aptitude; experience in Dynamics 365/AX, X++, Azure DevOps, API Management and Service Bus and SQL.
  • Experience with installation/configuration base components of D365: user groups, security, connections to databases, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Dynamics AX functionality (order management, procurement, inventory management, fulfillment, manufacturing, financials).
  • Solid understanding of the AX technology stack and development methodology.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong communication and analytical reasoning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of PCs and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Extremely detail oriented and able to complete tasks in a timely manner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK EFFORT:

PACKING SPECIALIST, PART-TIME - Tonganoxie, KS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Pay close attention to detail, check to ensure that items being packed are free of any defects.
  • Check the invoice against the garment hangtags to ensure the correct item(s), including color and size(s), are being packed.
  • Check the ship via to ensure the correct box and packaging are being used.
  • Ensure that the packaging is neat and secure.
  • Prepare items for shipping, which may include ironing or pressing, steaming and/or folding.
  • Prepare gift packaging for outbound orders as required, which includes making bows.
  • Include all applicable information inserts in each outbound package.

 

OTHER DUTIES:
  • Replenish packing supplies on the individual packing station daily (tape, care cards, special inserts).
  • Clean the surface of the packing station daily to ensure a clean, smooth working surface.
  • Assist in returns, shipping, warehouse or receiving as required.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to receive and follow instructions accurately.
  • Proficient in spelling and grammar.
  • Proficient in reading.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Routine demands standing for an entire shift.
  • Lifting up to 20 pounds regularly (each order varies in weight).
  • Regularly pushing carts loaded with up to 35 pounds.
  • Regular bending, stretching and walking.
  • Other Demands (when assisting in shipping, warehousing or receiving):
    • Transporting boxes up to 20 pounds each.
    • Lifting tubs/baskets up to 30 pounds each.
